Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, Monte Grande Chile
This was built in the neoclassical style in the 19th century and was delivered to the community on November 29, 1870, being the oldest in the valley.
The church has a simple nave, with ancient religious images, such as Christ and the Virgen del Carmen. In the church, in 1896, Gabriela Mistral made her first communion.
The childhood life of Lucila Godoy Alcayaga (real name of Gabriela Mistral) developed in close contact with the nature of Montegrande. She said: “I was happy until I left Montegrande; and I was never again"
At about 100 meters from the square, next to the road to Pisco Elqui, you can access by a path, the tomb of Gabriela Mistral.
Not only in her will, but many times, she had said: "It is my will that my body be buried in my beloved town of Montegrande del Valle del Elqui."
The size of the work is 3240x2160 px in jpg format.
